The oil the wood has absorbed will be unaffected by this quick-flashing solvent. Unless the can instructs you otherwise, apply sealer exactly like oil. Take care to protect your teak lumber and plywood while storing it. Stack the wood off the ground, using evenly spaced wooden slats every foot or so. Prevent sagging and warping by using a lot of spacers to provide support beneath the wood. Also place spacers between individual wood pieces or sheets.
How Do I Apply Gray Sealer?
It should be applied two or more times per year depending on use and exposure. If you havea power washer, use it on “light” to knock off the embedded dirt and oil residue. Or, use a hose nozzle with a strong spray to test this technique on a part of the furniture that doesn’t show. Teak is not a natural reddish brown so the table must have had some sort of finish applied to give it that color tone. In cases such as this, you will need to let the finish wear off over time.
